Maxon Motors Launches Power Pack

Maxon Motors has launched its RE 50, a high-density power pack with minimal dimensions. The RE 50 has an ironless rotor, which results in detent-free running and minimized mass inertia, according to the Swiss company. The combination of a two-pole Neodymium permanent magnet with patented maxon winding technology results in high torque and acceleration, the company said. The drive is available with four windings and has an efficiency of more than 90 percent. The system offers matching planetary gear heads, encoders and control systems.
